About the Role
As a Software Engineer in Baker Hughes' Digital Technology team, you'll join a group dedicated to driving digital transformation across the company. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on Baker Hughes' business by developing software solutions that support customer experience optimization, enhance case management, and streamline Voice of Customer (VOC) analysis. You'll be involved from the early stages of concept design through final builds, bringing innovations to life on the Salesforce platform.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Product Development and Team Collaboration
    As part of the Software Center of Excellence, you’ll lead the design and development efforts for high-quality software practices. Collaborating with Product Line Leaders, you'll turn product requirements and vision into actionable user stories and ensure timely, quality deliveries.

  2. Core Coding and Application Integration

    • Coding Standards: You’ll write code to meet specific standards, implementing the right technology for each project phase.
    • Data Management: Using your knowledge of data structures and algorithms, you'll handle data flows from various sources (Salesforce, SAP ERP, Oracle ERP) to the business application through Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and manage SFTP file transfers.
  3. Application and System Support

    • System Troubleshooting: As a technical support expert, you'll troubleshoot application issues, manage SFTP processes, and ensure data integrations are seamless and accurate.
    • Performance Monitoring: You'll be responsible for tracking application performance, data accuracy, and survey delivery, ensuring that the platform runs efficiently.
  4. Documentation and Compliance
    You'll maintain comprehensive documentation, recording all processes, workflows, and troubleshooting steps, helping both current and future team members navigate the system effectively.


Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, Baker Hughes is looking for a candidate who has:

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Professional Experience: At least 3 years of experience in supporting business applications and digitalizing business processes.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Salesforce Expertise: Familiarity with Salesforce, including Classic, Lightning, Visual Force, Apex, Flows, and integration techniques.
    • Data Integration Knowledge: Experience with ODI, Data Lake, and SFTP is essential.
    • Customer Experience Platforms: Knowledge of Clarabridge, Qualtrics, and Opinator platforms is a strong plus.
    • Programming Proficiency: Experience with object-oriented programming languages like Java or Python.
