Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced GeoSpatial Senior Developer skilled in Java to be part of our team. This position is crucial for creating advanced geospatial applications, ensuring smooth integration with our business systems, and troubleshooting any technical issues.

This role allows you to work in a hybrid environment, giving a balance between in-office collaboration and remote work. Working hours are during the day, and no travel is needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Geospatial Applications: Use Java to create applications that meet our business needs.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work with different teams to design and enhance geospatial solutions.
• Analyze Geospatial Data: Process and analyze data to offer insights and solutions.
• Integrate Systems: Ensure geospatial data smoothly connects with other business operations.
• Database Management: Maintain and improve geospatial databases like PostGIS or Oracle Spatial.
• Review Code Quality: Conduct code checks to ensure high standards.
• Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and resolve issues in the applications.
• User Interface Development: Build easy-to-use interfaces for our tools.
• Monitor Performance: Regularly check and improve the application performance.
• Stay Current: Keep up with new trends and tools in geospatial and Java development.
• Documentation: Write clear technical documents and project details.
• Team Training: Offer support and training to team members on geospatial technology.
• Improve Development Practices: Suggest ways to enhance our development process.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geography, or related fields.
• Experience: 7 to 8 years of working with Java and geospatial technologies.
• Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficient in geospatial data processing and analysis.
  • Experienced with databases like PostGIS or Oracle Spatial.
  • Good understanding of web mapping libraries and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and agile methods.
• Communication: Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and manage time effectively.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent at finding solutions to technical challenges.
