What You’ll Do as a Business Analyst
As a Business Analyst at Ocrolus, your role will involve a variety of tasks aimed at improving our data analysis and reporting capabilities. Here’s what a typical day might look like:
Tableau Expertise: You’ll be the go-to expert on Tableau, staying updated on the latest features and best practices. You’ll design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards that provide deep insights into our data, helping stakeholders make informed decisions.
SQL Proficiency: You’ll write optimized SQL queries to extract and manipulate data, ensuring that our reports are accurate and up-to-date. You’ll also create normalized data models to support Tableau reports, enhancing the efficiency of our data analysis.
Data Analysis: Your strong analytical skills will come into play as you collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information. You’ll identify trends, monitor server activity, and work with stakeholders to enrich existing dashboards with deeper insights.
Collaboration and Training: You’ll work closely with team members and stakeholders to continuously improve our reporting processes. Additionally, you’ll assist in training and developing trainee developers and end users, helping them get the most out of our tools and data.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for candidates who are passionate about data and eager to learn. While previous experience in the financial services industry is a plus, it’s not a requirement. Here are the qualifications we’re seeking:
Education: A graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field is required. We value candidates who have a strong foundation in analytical thinking and problem-solving.
Technical Skills: You should have hands-on experience with Tableau and be proficient in writing optimized SQL queries. Knowledge of advanced Tableau features, such as parameter controls and calculated fields, is a must.
Analytical Abilities: We’re looking for someone who can collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy. Your ability to provide insights and identify trends will be key to your success in this role.
Extra Credit: If you have Tableau desktop and server certification, experience working in an AWS Cloud Environment, or hands-on experience with Python, you’ll have an edge over other candidates.
