Role and Responsibilities
As a Cloud Support Associate Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing Expert Technical Support: Assist customers who use Ubuntu and other open-source products. You’ll tackle issues related to cloud environments, Linux kernel crashes, OS configuration problems, and more.
- Managing Support Cases: Take full ownership of support cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution while meeting our Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You'll keep customers updated and set the right expectations.
- Creating Knowledge Resources: Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and technical notices to share insights and solutions with customers and team members.
- Collaborating with Team Members: Work closely with colleagues both locally and remotely to ensure smooth communication and problem resolution.
- Continuous Learning: Stay informed about our products and services and adapt to new technologies and methods.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
- Experience: Some experience with Linux troubleshooting, server administration, and cloud computing concepts.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Linux systems, including troubleshooting and configuration.
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts such as provisioning, monitoring, and orchestration.
- Basic knowledge of virtualization, containers, and networking.
- Programming skills in languages like bash, Perl, Ruby, or Python.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with virtualized environments (e.g., KVM, VirtualBox, VMware).
- Familiarity with other open-source technologies.
- Active participation in open-source projects or forums.
