About the Role

As an Application Engineer at Baker Hughes, you will play a crucial role in developing technical and commercial solutions for our clients. Your work will help us deliver industry-leading valve solutions that optimize the extraction, production, and processing of energy. You will be responsible for overseeing global project control activities and ensuring that our technical and commercial proposals meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Here’s what you will be doing as an Application Engineer:

  • Technical Expertise: You’ll provide technical knowledge and develop solutions during the early stages of projects. This includes working closely with our commercial team to create proposals that are both technically sound and commercially viable.

  • Routine Analysis: You’ll conduct routine analyses using established methods and contribute to the development of new technologies. Your work will involve collaborating with various business units to collect and share technical information.

  • Customer Specifications: You’ll analyze customer requirements and develop optimized valve solutions that meet their needs. This includes learning about industry applications and becoming an expert in valve solutions.

  • Commercial Proposals: You’ll develop proposals that include detailed pricing and cost information, working as part of a cross-functional team. This team will help you gain expertise in different areas such as application engineering, development engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and commercial disciplines.

  • Customer Interaction: You’ll support customer interactions to ensure that the technical solutions we provide are optimal, economically viable, and efficient to manufacture.

What You Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Educational Background: A BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required. Experience in the valve industry (0-2 years) is also preferred.

  • Teamwork: You should be comfortable working with decentralized, multi-functional teams.

  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

  • Problem-Solving: You should have good problem-solving skills and be able to work in unconventional ways to find solutions.
